I’ve been listening to Steven for over a year and a half and I haven’t heard him talk about money ONE TIME. I have no idea how you are calling him a prosperity teacher. I agree this song is extremely problematic and concerning but don’t go overboard. He does not push a Gospel for wealth. At all. At least not since I’ve started listening (and I went back to past sermons)

you also havent heard him talk about the gospel one time. No scripture taught. No repentance of sin. No talking about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the only way to heaven. His god is a genie that wants all your hopes and dreams to come true rather than savior and Lord that saves. If you think its ok for a 16 year old pastors kid to rap about sex, money, designer clothes, g

uns and living like the world its not surprising youve listened to Steven Furtick for a year and a half. Youre deceived and lost.

Pastor Steven preaches the Gospel and yes he does teach scripture. Every Sunday. What we are talking about is a song from a 16 year old BOY. Regardless of who his parents are, teenagers are a rebellious group and what teen learns from direction? They learn from experience. We all do. Someone can say something till they are blue in the face and we still choose our own path which makes us fall on our face. We must teach them with love not by putting a bullseye on his forehead and the forehead of the Pastor. People are so quick to throw stones. I’m sure his dad already had a lengthy talk with him regarding his choice of lyrics. Remember the church isn’t for the perfect people. It’s for the sinners. Elevation church is a wonderful church. The people. The outreach they do. If you expect perfection from anyone they will surely let you down. It’s a good thing Jesus died for all sin. Including the sins of 16 year old boys.

Michelle, you are not biblically literate if you think furtick preaches from the Bible. I have countless references to furticks heresies on my fb page public right now if you'd like to see what he really is all about

I’ve witnessed the elevation cult in action. A team from elevation participated in a Habitat for Humanity faith build in SC a few years ago, and I was one of the corporate sponsors of that project. On the worksite they essentially stayed to themselves, brought their own elevation music to listen to, brought their own food for themselves, didn’t interact with other non-elevation teams or individuals. Very cultish. Even the way they reference “Pastor Steven” is odd, as if that’s his name. It’s a cult, and it is very hard for people to see clearly inside that organization for fear of being bullied, threatened, and cast out.

I believe this is the son the Mr. Furtick"preached" he would rather take him to an AC/DC concert than a church service. Mission accomplished.

Yes, we are all sinners, but sinners who should seek change in our lives, positive Christian change. The key to the New Testament has always been repentance! From the disciple John to Jesus we are told to repent of our sins. Those who willingly continue in sin and revel in it, only foster more sin.

Amen and amen. Today's "Christianity" is all marshmallow soft, sickly sweet and no repentance. But God's word talks about sin and God's wrath upon the disobedient.

Then why on God's green earth did they promote him? You didn't really think that response through. They should have told hi. This project was a no go, but they didn't. He may make bad choices, but with "Christian" patents who promote sin in and through their son, they are culpable. They will answer to God. They should've answered to the congregation long ago from the bad teaching and preaching, but I guess not.

He doesn’t need to “talk” about prosperity since he “walks” and has the lifestyle of it. Jesus didn’t have a place to rest His head. The Furticks live in a 16k square foot home and his Sunday outfits cost more than my monthly mortgage payment. I am blown away by the willful ignorance of his followers. Especially in this economy when so many are struggling to put food on the table for their children while he’s living large and showing off every Sunday. It’s honestly beyond acceptable but Jesus said in Rev that this would be the state of the church in the last days. We’ve got the Steven furticks of the world reminding us where we are. He said He was gonna spit out the Luke warm.

Never even heard of any of them prior to this article. After reading the son’s lyrics and mother/matriarch’s adulation of it, I realized one thing. This is why they never should have let women vote. The stupid ones ruin everything.

Furtick is one of many preachers of this ilk who seek to meld pop/hip-hop music into a perverted style of christian services. I dare NOT use a capitalized Christian as Furtick’s gig doesn’t meet that standard. Their audience is willfully duped into thinking what he does is worshipful and worthy. No slave of Christ can have two masters.

Please open your eyes to others like him, namely Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and many other prosperity preachers.

It’s not my job to save Furtick’s ministry. The bigger they are, the harder they fall! God have mercy on those who follow the wide, easy path of the pseudo gospel.
