That's your opinion. We are a divided nation. Half see him as divisive, half as a man bringing back American greatness. But regardless, he is still the president.
So he’s president. Is this a “might makes right” argument? Was Pontious Pilate “right” because he held the power? Isn’t that the essence of the testaments? Righteousness in the face of tyranny.?
People have amnesia regarding his first term, which was so unpopular that Republicans lost the 2018 midterms, lost the 2020 election, and underperformed in the 2022 midterms.
That was when he had guardrails.
So far, his mis-administration has fired important workers and needed to rehire them (nuclear, air traffic, disease prevention); had a classified conversation on an unsecured app (with no accountability); deported legal residents without due process; openly discussed an unconstitutional third term; alienated our allies; tanked the stock market; humiliated the U.S. with ridiculous behavior; and I could go on.
Trump never made America great - his first term ended in a pandemic and led us into inflation - and he never will.
In my opinion, he has been the best president of my lifetime.
I’ll give you that, he’s very unpopular, even hated, by the left.
But honestly, that’s what it comes down to. Leftists hate Trump. And that’s fine.
I’m fully aware of, and accept, the fact that my country is divided. So divided, in fact, that I often act as if it’s two separate nations, each with fundamentally different visions for where the country should go.
Outside of an act of God, I don’t see how we can unite.
Maybe it would be best if we accepted a national divorce. I don’t think it’ll happen, but it might be for the best, better than a hot civil war. We’re already living through a cold one.
I want a strong border, and some Democrat ideas were pushed too hard.
But waste is also being created - fire necessary workers, rehire them. Illegally fire workers, ordered to rehire them. Trump flies to Florida every weekend for golf. Delays on needed services because not enough workers to do the jobs correctly. Etc.
Some legal residents getting sent home without due process = injustice by being sloppy.
Crime went down in Biden’s term; Trump’s term saw an increase in race-related violence.
Biden had the best unemployment rate in 50 years. (And I’m Republican, so I’m not just tooting Biden’s horn.)
Almost 20 Nobel-prize winning economists have said Trump’s economic plan is a disaster - and the tariffs are crashing the stock market.
Now, Trump is trying to claim he’s crashing the market on purpose - which is nonsense, because that very comment is an attempt to stabilize the market.
I propose a law, modeled after the Texas abortion law that would allow any citizen to sue a church if they believe they are engaging in political activities.
He says nothing here. I listen to words but I pay attention to actions. Trump’s actions are so far from the love Jesus showed for us and for the marginalized. Where is that in his talk? Trump’s dismantling of USAID alone will lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths and illnesses. Where is God’s love in that America First agenda? Come with a real discussion next time.
Are these some of the folks who will stand before Christ and say, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? (Matthew 7:22)’ If they are, I hope that those who are there who want Christ to know them will leave this organization because it is not a church. It and its pastor are on the road that leads to destruction; the road which the multitudes follow.
Trump is not Christian. His character and his personal behavior clearly show his (bad) fruit.
Trump incites fear, anger, and hatred. He tries to preach peace, and then he warns about the enemy within - he creates division.
We know a house divided against itself will not stand.
Trump will not make America great, but he might very well tear it down.

Trump will never bring America back to greatness.

He won the presidency twice. Trump is popular.
In my opinion, he has been the best president of my lifetime.

Trump is popular with a vocal minority.
But even in 2024, more people voted for “Not Trump” than voted for Trump - and millions more simply sat out the election.
Trump was ranked the worst president ever by a group of historians who update the rankings every year.
He’s definitely not “the best” of anyone’s lifetime.
Out of curiosity, what do you think makes him great?
It's simple. He puts America first.
Borders are closed.
Immigrants are being sent home.
DEI and the trans crap are no longer being promoted by the government.
Government waste is being eliminated.
And let's not forget the talk of the town those beautiful tariffs.
Americans should be celebrating in the streets not protesting.
I predict lower taxes, safer streets and more jobs than people.
We have good days ahead.
A little bit of pain in the 401k but the cheap prices of stocks don't come around too often so that's a silver lining.
I want a strong border, and some Democrat ideas were pushed too hard.

Trump 2.0 will be a disaster.

Fuck you. Not a Christian at all.

Saddleback Church must be in the midst of changing from Baptist to Episcopal and filled with cultural cowards. So sad!
Saddleback just doesn't get it.
