Oh, HOW you have ENLIGHTENED me. Thank you so much for DEIGNING to discuss a doctrinal issue with a woman. What a fool. Are you greater than JESUS, who engaged on a doctrinal discussion with the woman at the well? You're as laughable as his disciples who, after they returned, were surprised to find Him talking with a woman. However you are obviously blind to the fact that when Jesus cried out "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?," it was a FULFILLMENT of the prophecy Isaiah 54:8. Now, you need to get on your knees and ask a holy God to forgive you for your foolish, Pharasaical pride, for the Timothy epistles were instructions for CHURCH ONLY, but I appreciate the fact that God just revealed the truth that "He conceals things from the wise and learned, and reveals them to babes." Oh, and consider the fact that there WAS no Bible when Paul wrote to Timothy. In fact ALL NT learning WAS from letters written from the apostles and Luke. I realize you want to keep women barefoot and pregnant, but not only am I college educated but served 9 years in the US Army. And I'm also nearly 70 years old, and make beautiful CD devotionals to pass out to people. I suppose I'm sinning in the eyes of the Lord according to YOU, as I ALSO pass out my devotionals to MEN. Didn't see you quote Paul's statement "In Christ there IS no male or female" in this either--hmmm...wonder why...

All men are fallible. Even Peter was rebuked for being wrong. Doesn’t make him a wolf. I have experienced vindictive women who are blinded by their anger. I will not convict anyone based on innuendo. There is something about this 20 year old story that just seems very vindictive by certain people who have held onto bitter feelings. God knows the truth and will judge accordingly. “Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

Hold on a second. I used to be FB friends with Phil Johnson and Martha Mac, until 2015, when Martha posted 2 strange posts with pictures of JMac, with a subliminal glow around him; one such pictured post said "Don't believe internet rumors about John MacArthur and the blood of Christ," and the other said "Don't believe internet rumors about John MacArthur and the mark of the beast." I didn't know what the posts were talking about so I didn't pay much attention, until 3 months later, when I saw a video of an interview between JMac and Phil, concerning the blood of Christ. I clicked the link and was appalled. I made a recording of it, and JMac literally said "We don't want to get caught in the bizarre notion that there's any saving efficacy in the FLUID that ran from His body, when the Bible talks about the blood of Christ, it's a metamym of His death." That's EXACTLY what apostate Mary Baker Eddy said about the blood of Christ! Then I found the video (which I also recorded), in which JMac did indeed say we could take the mark and still be saved, and I immediately broke fellowship with John MacArthur, Phil Johnson and Martha Mac. Additionally, go on Yelp and look up Grace Church in Greeley, CO, and you can read the abusive treatment I received at the hands of Travis Allen, who organized JMac's Strange Fire conference. Please read Hebrews 9 and Revelation 14 for clarification concerning the blood of Christ and taking the mark, and also Job 33, for clarification concerning the Lord coming to us in dreams, as He did ME, in 1973. We are COMMANDED to test and examine ALL MEN (1 John 1:4), and I stand by my conviction that John MacArthur is a WOLF in sheep's clothing, who presents a whole lot of truth, then slips in some lies that will send people to hell.

Karen,

Very good point. I dont know all the details about the "scandal" with this couple, I do know it is easier to decide an issue when we have 20/20 hindsight vision. I do know MacArthur has many "issues" with doctrinal stances that are dubious, the ones you mentioned and he also "teaches" that Jesus was separated from the Father on the Cross. This is a pernicious heresy that has been making the rounds in Reformed circles. The difficult part of dealing with these biblical "scholars" when they are teaching error is they are soooo convinced they are right about everything because they are sooooo smart. I look forward to the day when the Lord straightens all this teachers of the Law out

I already left a comment in reply, but I reread your reply to my comment, and regarding your comment about JMac saying Jesus was separated from the Father on the cross, for one moment God DID turn His face away, as Jesus fully took on OUR punishment for our sins, and that's why Jesus cried out in agony on the cross, "My God, my God, Eloi Sabachtami, why have you forsaken Me?!" I try to remember those words when Satan tempts me to sin. When we think of what Jesus DID for us on the cross, fully suffering OUR judgment, and punishment, it puts a different perspective on continuing to sin, doesn't it.

I usually dont engage in doctrinal debates with women (1 Tim 2:12), but with compassion I will make an exception. Jesus said, My God, my God, Eloi Sabachtami, why have you forsaken Me?!" because he was quoting Psalm 22 which is a Messianic Psalm and a description of a man being crucified. Saying Jesus was separated from the Father means He ceased to be God which is heresy. This teaching is also a "different Gospel" because the Gospel is Jesus was crucified for our sin, and after three days rose from the dead for our justification there is NO mention of Him being separated from the Father during this sacrifice because it did NOT happen. Hopefully, this helps you see the error of your ways. Dan

I'm disgusted by the many ppl who know of his heresies concerning the blood of Christ and taking the mark, but couldn't care less. They literally worship at his feet. And the dude rails at prosperity preachers, yet lives in a gigantic mansion, complete with swimming pool and tennis court. He also owns 2 other luxurious homes. And me? I'm just a retired 68 yo veteran who's been car camping for nearly 2 years--it was my CHOICE, not necessity, and I'm having the time of my life, living like my Savior, who "had no place to lay His head" (I have my VA and SSA pensions for my source of income). I make CD devotionals to pass out to ppl, free of charge, and I'm living only to hear "Well done, good and faithful servant" (I took the seats out of my Camry and put a mattress in the back along with a rod to hang clothes, and also put drawers in. I have custom WeatherTech window shades for total privacy, and take showers at Planet Fitness. I'm all set! I also take Visbiome acidophilus daily, so I don't have to worry about getting sick). Go to my YT "No Turning Back" channel and look up my shorts videos, and you can see how I spent my last birthday--gliding over Boulder! Woo-hoo! God has blessed me indeed. Someone wrote a little poem which has stuck with me: "A tent or a cottage, why should I care? They're building a mansion for me over there!"
