A lot of churches are in financial shortfall (including my own). It’s the economy, really. I know plenty in the same situation.
It would be concerning though if giving dropped because the main preacher isn’t there. That’s a problem in peoples’ mindsets and feeds into celebrity culture. Preaching is a team effort.
