‘Prophet’ Micah Turnbo Steps Away From Public Ministry, Deletes Accounts, After Vineyard USA Gets Involved
Embattled prophet and seer Micah Turnbo has announced that he is taking a break from public ministry, deleting his social media accounts while acknowledging: “I recognize that some of my writings and interview comments have included statements that do not align with Scripture.”
Turnbo is the Pastor of Prophetic Ministry at Vineyard Church Northwest in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the founder of Behold Wonder. He came under the scrutiny of Winger for claiming that he frequently goes to heaven and frolics around where he experiences fantastical extra-biblical revelation.
Turnbo reveals he once sat on God the Father’s lap and played with God’s sparkly beard, that God the Father likes eating ‘spicy food’ whereas Jesus has a ‘sweet tooth,’ that an angel appeared to him while he was pooping and gave him revelation regarding his “floaters,” that Judas is in heaven, that Jesus’ favorite marvel hero is “Spider-Man” and that he loves watching Avengers movies, and that Jesus entered into his video game and became a character while angels gave him tricks for beating the game.
These bizarre claims are also coupled with the fact that he’s been writing homoerotic fanfiction about him and Jesus under the guise of prophetic insights and visions. In response to criticism, Turnbo was openly hostile and defiant, mocking those who challenged his prophetic visions and disagreed with his suspect theology.
While the initial critical video of Turnbo caused his senior pastor, Luke Haselmayer, to offer a passionate defense and endorsement, subsequent revelations about Turnbo’s bizarre ramblings led Haselmayer to pull it down. This is when Turnbo’s social media accounts went dark.
After receiving considerable backlash, the church shared a statement on their site after more of his ramblings began circulating through the denominational leadership. “Notably, concern has also been expressed by leaders and members throughout the broader Vineyard movement.” As a result, “Micah, Vineyard Northwest, and Vineyard USA have together decided that Micah will take an extended leave from public ministry to rest, reflect, and seek guidance.”
Gee…did he see this coming?🧐
