Mount Moriah Church in Cambria, NY, which is an African Methodist Episcopal Church, had a novel plea to their parishioners: get vaccinated so that we’ll get $100 a head.
Explaining during the December 26 service that their church is staging ground for Covidtrucks and that they would be hosting a vaccine clinic every Sunday from 10am to 5p, one of the women tells the audience that there is a monetary incentive for the church if they get jabbed for the first time:
Please note the New York City vaccine referral bonus program incentivizes community and faith-based organizations to encourage members to get vaccinated.
For each person that receives their first vaccine at a city-run site, the organization will be awarded $100 in addition to the recipient receiving $100.
Please be sure to mention Mount Moriah referred you!”
