MT Health Department Pulls Gender-Reassigning Forms, Leaving Transsexuals in Limb-O
Without these forms, anyone wanting to change their information is unable to do so and must endure the alleged indignity of having their actual gender on their government-issued ID
Days after district judge Michael Moses of Billings blocked enforcement of a state law that insists transgendered folk undergo the knife and get their sexual organs either cut off or turned into fake ones before they can change the sex on their birth certificate, he ordered the Montana state health department to go back to the status quo until the constitutionality of the new law can be determined, but LGBTQ activist are saying there’s no way they can do that.
As the new law awaits to determine whether it is ‘constitutional’ or not, the Montana state health department is not providing the forms that are needed to change the information on their birth certificates- something that was possible in 2017. Back then, the DPHHS had a ‘gender designation form’ on their website that could be accessed for anyone wanting to make the switch, whether they had any sort of surgery or not, but that has been shut down.
Without these forms, anyone wanting to change their information is unable to do so and must endure the alleged indignity of having their actual gender on their government-issued ID, something that has the Montana ACLU and LGBTQ groups raging.
There is no word yet whether or not Austin Knudsen’s office is going to appeal Moses’ decision.
