Restaurants in Montana are facing multiple challenges lately. If it’s not a staff shortage, it’s a Montana beef shortage; many restaurants obtain their beef from the Midwest from states such as Nebraska. Many Montana restaurant owners would love to purchase local Montana beef. It’s not that beef isn’t being raised but rather that processing plants that butcher beef are so far behind.
This proves true as many hunters were forced to process their own game this year due to butchers and processors being overloaded.
Having just left Missoula’s Holiday Inn, (which always offered a free breakfast with hotel attendance ) breakfast simply isn’t happening anymore due to a loss of staff members.
