Montana Convoy Joining Thousands of Trucks on Way to DC

In solidarity with the Canadian’s Freedom Convoy but motivated by their own desire to see freedom reign and crushing Covid mandates ended, Montana truckers have joined up with several other large groups, notably the People’s Convoy and American Truckers Freedom Convoy (ATFC) as they head East to Washington and make their voices heard in time for the State of the Union address.
Around 1000 trucks left California two days ago and are making the week-long trek across the country, with Montana joining the fray. Estimates are a bit loose right now, but organizers are expecting anywhere from 3000-5000 trucks to go the whole way, with another 25,000 protesters to swell and join their ranks.
Kyle Cefcik, leader of the ATFC, said in a statement on Twitter that they have nothing but honorable motives in their protest, explaining in part:
“We are very organized in our routes are public, I even pulled a permit for the National Mall to be respectful. I just want to be as transparent as possible from the start. So there’s no confusion, we are coming peacefully. And we’re gonna do this lawfully. And constitutionally, I want the rest of the world to know our plans, so that there’s no twisting and lying about who and what we are. I’m coming to you as a father, a small business owner who’s unaffiliated to any parties. We just want government overreach to end on behalf of freedom convoy, USA 2022, we are asking you to end the state of emergency and the mandates once and for all, sir, the world is watching us because they know what’s happening in Canada happens to us here in the land of the free then freedom as we know it is gone.”
Despite his good intentions, it is a certainty that the mainstream media will instantly twist this gathering to be little more than a violent white supremacist rally. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she’s “monitoring” the situation and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved a request that would send 700 national guard troops deployed to the capitol.
