Lincoln County Library (Eureka Branch) Refuses Adult’s Request to Protect Their Child
How far we have fallen
Recently a Lincoln County resident went to her local library with her minor, who was a teenager. Having their own library card, the teen checked out a book and the parent then asked the librarian the book’s name. (Of course, when asked by the parent, the teen shared the book’s title with her mom, but the mother wanted to see what the librarian would do).
The librarian stated she couldn’t answer the mother’s question as it was against ‘library policy.’
The mother told MDG, “The real issue is if this were my younger child, they STILL wouldn’t abide by my request!”
How can libraries get by with such nonsense? The answer is below.
In the USA, where children can change their gender as minors, check out just about any book and receive abortions as children (but not have a glass of wine), we have huge issues. (Not that we’re advocating children drinking, but it’s the point).
Just when you thought it was safe to go to the library, it really isn’t. Parental rights over their minor children are being torn away from them.
You can explore here to see where minors can check out books without their parents’ permission.
Public libraries have been dangerous for children since the ‘80s. Take it from me, a librarian. Shut ‘em down, and reopen as community subscription libraries (with funding to cover low income families). Ben Franklin idea.
