Lawyer Urges Disney World to Move to Liberal Texas County Amid Turmoil
A Texas judge has proposed that Walt Disney World moves to the Lone Star State as the theme park remains in a feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX/KDBC) — A Texas judge has proposed that Walt Disney World moves to the Lone Star State as the theme park remains in a feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Fort Bend County Judge KP George sent a letter to Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek inviting the company to consider Fort Bend County as a new place to do business.
“While you, your company, employees, and diverse fans face authoritarian, anti-business, and culture war attacks from extremists in Florida, we in Fort Bend are more ready to welcome the Disney family with thousands of good-paying jobs and billions of dollars of investments,” George stated in a letter dated April 21.
Fort Bend County is located in the Houston metropolitan area of southeast Texas and is filled with residents and families who “compose the most diverse county in the United States,” according to George.
George described the county as “a welcoming and diverse place to do business,” that has “lots of wide open and affordable land” and is “strategically located for the most efficient distribution of goods domestically and internationally including the best access to both inland and water ports in Texas.”
