Bethel Church Has Its Own School of Technology. Learn to Code While Being Taught By Bill Johnson
Bethel Church in Redding, California, has many ways to make a buck. They must, as they’ve already broken ground on their brand new $96,000,000 Campus and Apostolic Training Center. To keep the land of milk and honey from growing parched, the 12,000-member Bethel Church has over 90 ministries, many of which seemingly exist only to raise capital.
They have a ‘Lab’ where they apply ‘scientific methods’ to the prophetic, and where you or your business can get a custom prophetic report for only $2750. They offer courses on interpreting dreams for $150, and they offer ‘acting classes’ for $26,700 and a dance certificate for $14,000.
They recently added a new item to their online shop, a digital download of Randy Clark’s School of Healing & Impartation 2023 which teaches buyers to “partner with God to bring heaven to earth through miracles and healing ministry” by equipping them to “reproduce the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.”
It’s a steal at only $27.
According to a 2018 report, the church brought in $21.6 million in tithes and offerings, which only represents about 35% of its annual income of $60.8 million. Bethel TV and Bethel Music brought in nearly $25 million, and they have multiple school tuition and fees which provided $13.7 million, including their Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, Bethel Christian School, WorshipU, Bethel Conservatory of the Arts, their online Leadership Development Program, and Bethel Business School.
They also have their School of Technology. It is an online, faith-based, nine-month technology boot camp that specializes in the high-demand areas of Software Development, Data Science, UI/UX Design, and Cybersecurity, merging these with spiritual lessons from Bethel leadership. Courses range between $13k-16k and are completed in 33 weeks.
All programs have a theological quotient to them. If you choose the Cybersecurity program, for example, you’ll receive “1,000+ hours of skills training that lead to in-demand jobs” and “instruction and mentorship from industry leaders and experienced developers.”
You’ll also receive “faith-based values, taught by Bethel leaders Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton, Danny Silk, and Dann Farrelly, that help build high emotional intelligence” so that you can “grow your personal walk with God and further discover your identity in Christ.”
The mandatory spiritual lessons for all the programs are part of their Kingdom Core Foundations course, where registrants will “discover intimacy with God, cultivating his presence, and learning to hear from him” and get taught “biblical foundations for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and discovery of these gifts.”
Basically, you’re taught to become a Bethelite while learning about front-end frameworks and coding structures.
Given what we know about their theology, it’s a devil’s bargain if there ever was one.
