Beloved AZ Pastor Found Dead In Bed With Hands Pinned To Wall
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disturbing murder of William Schonemann, a 76-year-old pastor affectionately known as “Pastor Bill,” after he was found dead in his home on April 28.
The beloved leader of New River Bible Chapel was discovered deceased following a welfare check, with authorities quickly ruling the incident “foul play” and classifying the case as a homicide due to the nature of his injuries.
According to sources cited by Fox 10 News, Schonemann was found “on the bed with his arms spread out and hands pinned to the wall,” and that “he also appeared to have significant injuries.”
The Sheriff’s Office has withheld additional specifics regarding the ongoing investigation, including information about potential suspects.
Carol Mathews, a neighbor of Schonemann, told Fox 10 “My reaction is really, horror, because it sounds so terrible, he’s a minister, and it’s close to where we live. Whenever there is a potential murderer running around, I’m not too comfortable, but I can understand why they wouldn’t share. I think they will find him, but there is a reason why this person did it, and that’s what they need to find out.”
