Bank Robbery in Bigfork! Suspect Considered Armed and Dangerous
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said that the opportunistic thief hit up the bank around 3 pm
A Montana man (presumed) is on the run after an attempted robbery at the Glacier Bank in Bigfork yesterday, with the hapless crook failing to secure any money and instead leaving empty-handed.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said that the opportunistic thief hit up the bank around 3 pm but deputies were alerted before he was able to get any money and he fled on foot before they arrived. No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
At this time law enforcement is not releasing further details related to what manner the suspect used or did not use his gun or another weapon to threaten the clerks or personnel there. The FSCO has said that he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached under any condition. They’ve been using dogs and helicopters to try to locate him but were unsuccessful in doing so.
The robbery and subsequent search also prompted schools to enter lockdown status, but most students had already left before the announcement was made.
The suspect is described as a 5’8″ tall white male who has longer red/brown hair, black beanie, and weighs around 150lb.
Anyone who has seen this sketchy guy should call the Flathead County Tip line at 406-758–5585 or email tips@flathead.mt.gov.
This is the second such bank robbery in as many weeks in the state, after a suspect was apprehended last week after he robbed the Trail West Bank branch in Bonner.
