Apologist Mike Winger Posts Cryptic Message ‘Many [will] think that I’m off base, compromised’
Christian Apologist Mike Winger has posted a cryptic message to his social media, writing on X that he’s about to create several videos that will leave “many to think that I’m off base, compromised, unspiritual.”
Winger is a popular apologist with over 830,00 followers on YouTube. We’ve criticized him when he refused to call Joel Osteen a false brother and claimed that “He does seem to proclaim the true gospel of Christ.” We also knocked him when he defended Bethel Church, claiming that they have “the essentials of the faith” and that he “didn’t see a false gospel in Bethel’s teaching.” (He has since gone hard after Bethel and seemingly changed his tune)
On the other hand, we’ve also praised him and shared his content after he released a four-hour-long blistering critique of Benny Hinn, seen over 1.5M times, that served to function as a cinematic cinderblock to the arch-heretic head, prompting Hinn to apologize for his mistakes.
Now, it seems like he’s going on a continuationists-bashing bender that will target some of the worst offenders in this camp, naming Bethel, IHOPKC, and Morningstar as likely targets of his ire.
He later clarifies:
We’re glad he’s tackling this sort of thing. If he wants a veritable treasure trove of articles, pictures and videos, we’d suggest he look through our archives, as we’ve been documenting their dirty deeds for over a decade, and likely have the largest repository of their many, many shenanigans.
Very proud of Mike following what the Lord has led him to do. So many people are in Hell because they followed and believed the false Gospel that so many have spread like a wild fire through humanity. May God's Blessings be with Mike as he presses forward.
Why does Winger have to give a big ad campaign? Just make the videos and let the chips fall where they may. Saying goodbye to people who haven't left yet or who he thinks probably will because of what he might say or names he might name seems to me like he's just trying to get the spotlight turned on himself ahead of time. Or maybe it's just because everything he plans on saying has already been said but he's trying to make it look " brand new." I'll stick with Protestia.
